BLACKCURRANTBEASTIE

Matt first encountered the clarinet at 7 years old. At the time his overriding thought was that it was such a difficult instrument he wanted to choose a different one! Nevertheless, he took the school instrument home
Having found an affinity with the clarinet; Matt took his exams, progressing through the grades.
At the age of 11 he joined the Leicestershire Schools Bands, going from the preliminary concert band to the crème of the crop, the Symphonic Wind Band, achieving standing ovations for many of his performances.
From there he went on to achieve his Grade 8 certificate in music with distinction. He then played for the Charnwood Orchestra, and was also first clarinet in the Loughborough University Orchestra
Following a break, Matt auditioned and secured tuition with the premier clarinet tutor in Leicestershire. He then took his Recital Certificate with Guildhall and attained a meritorious level.
Matt now teaches clarinet to students at any level in their musical studies or career and saxophone up to grade 5.
